Pet safety gates : Pet safety issues
Pet Gate Safety Issues If your dog is tall make sure that the pet gate you buy is sufficiently tall as well so that he won't be able to jump or crawl over it. If your dog is an aggressive chewer you should choose a pet gate that is made from material that can withstand this behavior. A plastic or wire mesh gate are less likely to withstand this type of behavior. Your best option is to go for a pet gate with metal slats. You should also check that it is not possible for your dog to get his head stuck between the slats. Always make sure that the gate is firmly attached so that your dog wont be able to push it over or open it by leaning on it. If you are installing a pet gate on a staircase you should NOT get a pressure mounted pet gate. For a staircase your safest bet is to go with a hardware mounted gate so it is not possible under any circumstances for your pet to knock it over. Back : Pet Gates Home : Pet Supplies Review
